The Victorian terraces in Weybridge's older streets were built on suspended pine flooring over a sub-floor void of 150–300mm. Original boards frequently have protruding nails, isolated rot or movement where joists have shifted. We assess structural integrity first, fix or replace problem boards, ply-board where needed, then fit engineered hardwood or LVT on a stable, quiet base.
The generous detached homes of Oatlands Park and Oatlands Village were built before modern damp-proof membrane standards. Ground floors read elevated moisture even in dry conditions, and the large room sizes mean any preparation failures are magnified. We carry out a calcium carbide moisture test at the visit, apply float-down DPM where readings require it, and lay LVT glued direct for a permanently stable result.
St George's Hill properties are typically large-footprint modern or heavily-renovated homes with wet underfloor heating on the ground floor and extensive engineered floor areas. We specify only UFH-rated products — typically LVT glued direct or engineered oak with a maximum 15mm thickness and confirmed surface temperature tolerance — and provide full compatibility documentation at the time of quote.
The newer development around Brooklands uses concrete structural decks with a thin developer screed. Levelness varies room-to-room — particularly at thresholds between open-plan zones — and the large format products appropriate for these spaces amplify any hollow spots or flex. We use feather-finish levelling compound to bring all areas to within 3mm over 3m before any product goes down, voiding no warranties.
