§ How we approach each Woking project

A straightforward process — from first call to finished floor.

  1. Step 01

    Free home visit

We come to you with our full sample range. We assess the subfloor in each room — noting whether it's suspended timber, solid concrete or concrete deck — and take accurate measurements.

  2. Step 02

    Fixed price on the day

We give you a written quote before we leave. It includes materials, fitting, all preparation, door bars and uplift. The number doesn't change on fitting day.

  3. Step 03

    We prepare correctly

Ply boarding, moisture testing, levelling compound or DPM — whatever the subfloor needs. We include this in the quote, not as an extra discovered on the day.

  4. Step 04

    Clean, guaranteed finish

Doors trimmed, thresholds fitted, old floor removed and taken away. Your home is ready to use immediately. Any issue in the first 12 months and we return free of charge.

§ Woking housing types we work in

Flooring matched to Woking's real housing stock.

Post-war semi · Knaphill / Sheerwater

Solid concrete ground floor, pre-DPM, timber upper storey

The post-war estates of Knaphill and Sheerwater were built on solid concrete slabs in the 1950s and 1960s, typically without a modern damp-proof membrane. Ground-floor moisture is a reliable factor in these properties, often undetected under carpet for years. We test with a calibrated hygrometer, apply a liquid DPM where needed and fit LVT glued direct — the most stable and waterproof product for this subfloor type. Upstairs timber floors take carpet on a 10mm PU underlay.

1930s detached · Horsell

Suspended timber ground floor, solid upper storey, pre-war character

Horsell's 1930s detached houses — particularly those on the tree-lined roads around Horsell Common — have the classic inter-war construction of suspended timber ground floors and solid brick upper floors. The ground-floor boards typically sit over a ventilated void and can develop bounce at the centre of large rooms over time. We check joist integrity, overlay with ply, and fit engineered hardwood in a width suited to the room proportions — usually a 150–180mm board in a character oiled finish that respects the period of the house.

New-build estate · Goldsworth Park / Pyrford

Concrete structural deck, developer screed, UFH in some phases

The Goldsworth Park and Pyrford estate developments use concrete deck construction throughout. Some plots in more recent phases include wet underfloor heating in the ground-floor slab. We confirm the heating specification at the visit and fit accordingly — LVT glued direct or engineered oak rated above wet UFH where required, or floating click-LVT where UFH is absent. In both cases, a written confirmation of product compatibility is provided with the quote.

Canal-side apartment · Woking town centre

Concrete deck between floors, acoustic requirements, managing agent approval

The canal-side apartment developments near Woking town centre are built on concrete deck construction between floors. Lease conditions in most of these buildings specify acoustic underlay under any hard flooring, and managing agents typically require written confirmation of compliance before works begin. We fit only Part E-rated acoustic underlay in these properties, provide written product specifications on request, and trim all doors to the new floor level as part of the fixed price.
