The cushioned sheet vinyl of the 1990s has largely given way to LVT — individual rigid planks and tiles with a deep photographic wear layer. Kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways — anywhere water, mud or pets are part of daily life. The vinyl construction is waterproof through its full thickness, and in the wettest rooms we fit glue-down format with sealed perimeters so nothing gets beneath the floor. It's the product we recommend most often for busy family ground floors.

It is what most people searching for vinyl flooring today are best served by: fully waterproof like traditional vinyl, but far more realistic in appearance, more durable underfoot, and repairable plank by plank rather than as a whole floor.
Sheet vinyl comes as a single roll with a printed cushioned surface; LVT comes as individual planks or tiles with a thick photographic wear layer. LVT looks dramatically more realistic, wears harder, and a damaged board can be replaced individually — with sheet vinyl, damage usually means replacing the room. LVT is the vinyl product we supply and fit.
Yes — the vinyl construction of LVT is fully waterproof through its entire thickness, which is why it is the standard recommendation for kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways. In very high-moisture areas we fit the glue-down format so water cannot find its way beneath the floor.
