Fully waterproof · Plank & tile formats · Fixed price · Free home visit
Vinyl flooring today means LVT — luxury vinyl planks and tiles that are fully waterproof, hard-wearing and convincingly wood- or stone-look. We supply and fit it across Berkshire, Surrey, Middlesex and Greater London with subfloor preparation, uplift of the old floor and door trimming all included in one fixed written price from a free home visit.
The cushioned sheet vinyl of the 1990s has largely given way to LVT — individual rigid planks and tiles with a deep photographic wear layer. Same waterproof material, completely different floor: realistic at a glance, solid underfoot, and repairable board by board. Our LVT flooring page covers the formats and products in full detail.
Kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways — anywhere water, mud or pets are part of daily life. The vinyl construction is waterproof through its full thickness, and in the wettest rooms we fit glue-down format with sealed perimeters so nothing gets beneath the floor. It's the product we recommend most often for busy family ground floors.
Wood-look planks for living spaces, large-format stone-look tiles for kitchens and bathrooms, and parquet-pattern blocks where a period look is wanted — see our dedicated herringbone LVT page. All formats come to the free home visit as samples, so you choose against your own light and decor.
Vinyl is thin, so it shows whatever is beneath it. We ply-board suspended timber, level uneven concrete and moisture-test older slabs before fitting — preparation that's included in the fixed price. Read how our pricing works for what every quote covers.
LVT — luxury vinyl tile — is the modern form of vinyl flooring, supplied as individual rigid planks or tiles rather than a single sheet. It is what most people searching for vinyl flooring today are best served by: fully waterproof like traditional vinyl, but far more realistic in appearance, more durable underfoot, and repairable plank by plank rather than as a whole floor.
Sheet vinyl comes as a single roll with a printed cushioned surface; LVT comes as individual planks or tiles with a thick photographic wear layer. LVT looks dramatically more realistic, wears harder, and a damaged board can be replaced individually — with sheet vinyl, damage usually means replacing the room. LVT is the vinyl product we supply and fit.
Yes — the vinyl construction of LVT is fully waterproof through its entire thickness, which is why it is the standard recommendation for kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways. In very high-moisture areas we fit the glue-down format so water cannot find its way beneath the floor.
It depends on the format (click-lock or glue-down), the floor area, and the subfloor preparation needed. We measure at a free home visit and give a fixed written price covering supply, preparation, fitting, uplift of the old floor and door trimming — nothing added later.
